The middle of March 2020 I was supposed to be hiking in Nepal. Epic mountains, beautiful nature, physical challenge and high altitudes. I had bought all the gear, done all the research. I had quit my day job in January and was prepared for being on the road for the entire year.
And then the universe threw one gigantic spanner in the works of the lives of every single person on this planet. So you know what I’m talking about.
I’m not going to bore you with the implications, but suffice it to say that I couldn’t just sit around doing nothing. And since I couldn’t go anywhere other than my own backyard: I will explore my country for you.
Tourist in my own backyard: Hiking the Hiwwelweg Neuborn
The Hiwwelweg Neuborn is a hiking trail just outside Wörrstadt, a small town south of Mainz, the regional capital of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.
